Goyang City will also participate in Seoul's unlimited transportation pass project, the 'Climate Companion Card.' As Goyang is the adjacent local government to Seoul with the largest population and the highest traffic volume, it is expected that the number of citizens benefiting from this will significantly increase.
On the morning of the 25th, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and Goyang Mayor Lee Dong-hwan signed the 'Seoul-Goyang Climate Companion Card Participation Business Agreement' at Seoul City Hall. Goyang is a large-scale special city with a population exceeding one million and is the largest local government adjacent to Seoul in Gyeonggi Province. Additionally, with successive large-scale housing developments in Samsong, Wonheung, Hyangdong, and Deogeun, the number of commuters traveling between the two cities is gradually increasing, raising expectations for more active use of the Climate Companion Card.

According to the agreement, the Climate Companion Card will be usable at a total of 26 subway stations located in Goyang: 10 stations on Line 3 (Daehwa to Samsong), 10 stations on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line (Tanhyeon to Korea Aerospace University), and 6 stations on the Seohae Line (Ilsan to Neunggok). Additionally, 20 Seoul city bus routes with 348 buses passing through Goyang are already included in the Climate Companion Card service area.
Furthermore, the two local governments plan to accelerate related consultations and institutional improvements to complete the Climate Companion Card service for all 26 subway stations in Goyang by as early as the first half of this year. Seoul has begun discussions with Korail, the operator of these stations, and plans to announce specific timelines and methods in the future.
