'Production and Distribution of Labor Rights Posters for Working Youth'
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education is focusing on creating a culture where the value of labor and human rights are respected.
On the 22nd, the Gwangju Office of Education announced that it will produce and distribute a "Labor Rights Poster for Working Youth" to all 321 elementary, middle, and high schools in the district.
This initiative was promoted to encourage students to take an interest in the value of labor and the culture of respecting human rights, as well as to provide useful information related to labor to youth.
The poster content is centered on essential labor rights tips that working youth should know. It includes information at a glance on ▲weekly holiday pay ▲minimum hourly wage ▲industrial accident insurance ▲unfair dismissal ▲electronic monitoring ▲labor contracts ▲contact information for labor rights violation centers, and more.
Superintendent Lee Jeong-seon stated, “We are actively conducting labor rights education so that our students, whether currently working part-time or in future workplaces, can respond to unfair treatment or labor conditions that violate labor standards. Our office will continue to do its best to support labor rights education to raise sensitivity to labor rights.”
Meanwhile, the Gwangju Office of Education operates 700 classes annually of the "Labor Rights Classroom Visiting Schools" program for elementary, middle, and high school students, striving to foster a culture that respects the value of labor. Additionally, to enhance students’ sensitivity to labor rights, monthly labor rights campaigns and consultations are conducted at schools.
