Na: "Democrats Have Chronic Misogyny in Every Election"
Former lawmaker Na Kyung-won, co-chair of the People Power Party's joint election countermeasures committee, criticized the Democratic Party, saying, "They need to reconsider their chronic habit of casually using sexually derogatory remarks every election."
On the 22nd, Na appeared on KBS Radio's "Jeon Jong-cheol's Jeongyeok Sisa" and said, "The Democratic Party of Korea applies a double standard when it comes to women's issues. They act recklessly themselves but have often made absurd claims such as 'victim complainants' regarding matters related to themselves, and some of those people were even given single-candidate nominations this time."
Earlier, Ryu Sam-young, the Democratic Party candidate running against Na in Seoul Dongjak District 2, posted promotional materials containing the sexually derogatory phrase "You have to step on the pot to get the real taste," which sparked controversy. Regarding this, Na said, "Since Ryu said it wasn't made by him, we just assumed it was posted by a supporter and let it go, but there has been a lot of criticism that this was somewhat lukewarm. Ultimately, Ryu's own face was used without permission, so shouldn't there be more responsible measures taken?"
She continued, "While the Democratic Party talks as if it cares deeply about women's rights, in reality, there is a culture of dismissing Democratic Party lawmakers being ousted due to sexual derogation or sex crimes related to women by calling them 'victim complainants.' If this is not changed, the same flaws will be repeated."
The People Power Party Central Women's Committee stated in a press release on the 19th, "There is controversy over promotional materials created by strong supporters of Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung for candidate Ryu, which include phrases like 'You have to step on the pot to get the real taste' and 'A strong candidate who will step on Na Kyung-won (Na Kyung-won Ilbe) in Dongjak District 2.' This can only be seen as sexual derogation against candidate Na."

They added, "As the situation worsened, candidate Ryu hastily issued a statement denying that he produced or distributed the web flyer, showing an attitude of distancing himself without apologizing to candidate Na," and urged, "The Democratic Party, where abusive language against women has become common sense and daily life, must immediately withdraw candidate Ryu and apologize to the people of the Republic of Korea, especially women."
