Recently, as more residents use parks with their pets, complaints related to improperly disposed pet waste have been increasing.
In response, Seo-gu has promoted the installation of pet waste bag dispensers in major parks to address this issue.
Last year, Seo-gu installed waste bag dispensers in eight locations including Sangmu Citizen's Park, Pungam and Uncheon Lakes, and Pungam Sports Park, and due to high usage by residents, an additional 12 locations were added this year.
The waste bag dispensers were installed at park entrances and walking trails in each park so that citizens visiting with their pets can easily see and use them, with convenience features allowing users to pull out one bag at a time.
Yang Dongsik, Director of the Parks and Greenery Division, said, "We ask for cooperation in creating a mature pet culture by wearing leashes and immediately collecting pet waste," and added, "We will continue to do our best so that all citizens can enjoy parks in a pleasant environment."
Currently, the parks with installed waste bag dispensers include ▲ Sangmu Citizen's Park ▲ Pungam and Uncheon Lakes ▲ Pungam Sports Park ▲ Nongsung Square ▲ 5·18 History Park ▲ Sinam, Juglim, Yujeok, Yeomju, Sangmu 4-1, Sangmu 4-2 Neighborhood Parks ▲ Ssanghak, Unri, Jangsu, Chipyeong, Pureum, Punggeum, Ujeong, and Kkumadang Children's Parks, totaling 20 locations.
