Seoul Metro (President Baek Ho) announced that on March 18, it held an induction ceremony for new employees and began a two-week training program for 720 newly hired recruits.
This new employee recruitment process started with a job announcement on December 19 of last year, followed by a written test, personality assessment, and interviews, culminating in the announcement of the final successful candidates on March 7.
From March 18 to 29, the induction ceremony welcomed new employees with a company introduction video featuring greetings and advice from senior staff in each department, followed by a congratulatory performance by the in-house rock band ‘Metro Mania’.
President Baek Ho and the management team attending the induction ceremony offered words of encouragement to the new employees and spent time communicating informally with them, including taking group selfies together.
In his welcome speech, President Baek emphasized three key factors for success within the organization: competence, communication, and imagination. He highlighted the importance of work skills such as organizational management and report writing, communication abilities that go beyond EQ to meet the demands of the NQ era, and the significance of imagination and creativity in preparing for a dream society in the post-information age.
New employee Hajinsu, who joined the office department, said, “After joining, seeing the subway facilities gave me a sense of ownership and attachment, along with a sense of responsibility. I am determined to carefully ensure safety so that passengers can use the subway with peace of mind.”
Another new employee, Jeong Yujin, said, “It feels special to work as a member of the company at a subway station I used frequently. I will do my best to help passengers use the subway comfortably.”
Baek Ho, President of Seoul Metro, said, “I hope the new employees will create a new future as the owners of the company. I wish everyone a joyful work life while fully demonstrating their individual abilities in their respective positions. Once again, I sincerely congratulate you on joining our company,” expressing his welcome.
