Boseong Dahyang Festival Accelerates Preparations to Welcome Visitors

Full-Scale Promotion of Local Economic Revitalization and Tea Culture Dissemination

Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it held a basic plan briefing session for the ‘Boseong Dahyang Grand Festival,’ which will be held for five days from May 3 to 7 at the Korea Tea Culture Park and surrounding areas, on the 19th, and has embarked on full-scale efforts to make it a successful festival by establishing a stay-type tourism infrastructure.

The festival promotion committee members who attended the briefing reviewed the details of the Boseong Dahyang Grand Festival as well as ▲Boseong Residents’ Day △Seopyeonje Boseong Sound Festival ▲Illimsan Azalea Cultural Event ▲Children’s Day ▲Green Tea Marathon ▲National Yacht Competition ▲Daily Concert ▲Drone Light Show, and discussed strengthening the cooperation system for the efficient progress of the festival.

In particular, they closely examined matters such as the operation policy of participatory programs that can promote the local economy through the festival and showcase the charm of Boseong to domestic and international tourists, expansion of tea-themed programs, systematic disaster response and safety management measures for a safe and enjoyable festival, and plans for securing and deploying safety management personnel.

Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong-gun, said, “The 47th Boseong Dahyang Grand Festival will be a festival where the tradition and modernity of Boseong harmonize, providing an excellent opportunity to show the strength and creativity of the local community to the world.” He added, “We will do our best to successfully hold the festival that reveals the true value of Boseong and revitalizes our local economy.”

Meanwhile, the 47th Boseong Dahyang Grand Festival, designated as a cultural tourism festival for 2024-2025, is hosted by the Boseong Dahyang Festival Promotion Committee (Boseong Tea Producers Association) and will be held under the theme ‘The Allure of a Thousand-Year Tea, Boseong’s Proposal’ to preserve and promote the rich culture and unique traditions of the tea city Boseong both domestically and internationally.
