Improving Operational Capability of 'SONAR' Used for Underwater Object Detection
The West Sea Regional Coast Guard Agency (Chief Kim Inchang) announced on the 20th that it conducted SONAR training for patrol vessel operators as part of efforts to strengthen search and rescue capabilities.
‘SONAR’ is a sound wave detection device mainly used to locate objects underwater, and the Coast Guard utilizes this equipment for searching missing persons and sunken items.
The West Sea Coast Guard Agency invited an anti-submarine observer from the Navy's 3rd Fleet as an external instructor and conducted both theoretical and practical training over two days, on the 19th and 20th.
