Honam University Department of Occupational Therapy, Employment Rate 92.5%... Ranked No.1 in Gwangju and Jeolla Region
The employment rate of graduates from the Department of Occupational Therapy at Honam University reached 92.5%, ranking first in the Gwangju-Jeolla region and second nationwide.
According to the 2023 University Information Disclosure data, 38 out of 41 graduates from the Department of Occupational Therapy at Honam University found employment, recording an employment rate of 92.5%.
The main employment institutions and fields for graduates, leveraging their major characteristics, include working as occupational therapists at general hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, and nursing hospitals, as well as serving as sensory development rehabilitation therapists (occupational therapists) at developmental rehabilitation voucher providers and child development centers.
Occupational therapists employed at hospitals provide treatment aimed at improving daily living and independence for patients with conditions such as brain injury, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury.
Additionally, sensory development rehabilitation therapists (occupational therapists) working at voucher-providing institutions and child development centers offer services to enhance functions such as cognition, communication, adaptive behavior, and sensory-motor skills, as well as behavioral development for growing children.
Since 2016, the Department of Occupational Therapy at Honam University has been accredited by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT). The department has been producing excellent occupational therapists annually through student-centered education, including the establishment of practice labs to strengthen student capabilities, signing agreements with local health care institutions, implementing a 1:1 lifelong mentoring system, and offering customized national examination programs.
