Gyeongsang National University, 40th CEO Program Admission and Opening Ceremony
Director Jeong Dae-yul: "Become a Leading Figure in Awakening and Spreading K-Entrepreneurship"
Special Lecture by Lee Seung-han, Founder Chairman of Homeplus, Also Follows
The Graduate School of Business at Gyeongsang National University held the '40th Executive MBA Program Entrance and Opening Ceremony' on the 19th at the Executive MBA classroom on the 5th floor of the Business Administration Building at the Gajwa Campus.
The entrance ceremony was attended by 41 new students, including Kim Woo-sik, Chairman of the Gyeongnam Tourism Association, as well as distinguished guests such as Kwon Soon-gi, President of Gyeongsang National University, Baek Hong-gyu, Chairman of the Research Scholarship Foundation, and Oh Yong-woon, President and executives of the Executive MBA Alumni Association.
The Executive MBA program at Gyeongsang National University was established in 1989 and has graduated over 1,500 students who have contributed significantly to the development of the local community. In particular, the Research Scholarship Foundation and the University Development Fund, created through the collective efforts of the alumni, have greatly contributed to the advancement of the university’s academic and educational development.

View original imageAt the Executive MBA program entrance and opening ceremony, Jeong Dae-yul, Dean of the Graduate School of Business, emphasized to the students the importance of rearming themselves with an entrepreneurial spirit.
In his opening remarks, Dean Jeong said, “What CEOs feel most urgently while running a company is that all employees are equipped with an entrepreneurial spirit. Although today’s start is small, I hope all students will once again awaken to the K-entrepreneurial spirit and become the main agents spreading the K-entrepreneurial spirit to all employees and everyone around them.”
Kwon Soon-gi, President of Gyeongsang National University, congratulated the 40th Executive MBA class on their admission in his congratulatory speech and explained the status of Gyeongsang National University, which aims to be a Global No. 1 University (GNU), along with its recent achievements. He particularly emphasized that being selected for the Glocal University Project and the Startup-Centered University Project will be a major driving force for Gyeongsang National University to rise as a world-class university.
In his speech, President Kwon said, “The place where the Executive MBA graduate students study is the same place where the Korean Academy of Management declared July 10, 2018, as the capital of Korean entrepreneurship. Now, K-entrepreneurial spirit has become a brand representing not only Jinju but also our country and a source of pride for our university.” He added, “Two keywords for Gyeongsang National University’s selection as a Glocal University are aerospace & defense and K-entrepreneurial spirit. I am confident that many who studied at this historic place will become world-class CEOs who contribute to the region and human society.”
Baek Hong-gyu, Chairman of the Research Scholarship Foundation, and Oh Yong-woon, President of the Executive MBA Alumni Association, emphasized the prestige of the Gyeongsang National University Executive MBA program and highlighted its contributions to the local community and society in their congratulatory remarks.

During the entrance and opening ceremony, a special lecture was given by Lee Seung-han, founding chairman of Homeplus. Chairman Lee emphasized the entrepreneurial spirit of Samsung’s Lee Byung-chul and Lee Kun-hee and presented a K-management model suited to Korean companies.
