From 'Versatile Robot Arm' to 'Autonomous Robot'... LG Electronics Presents Logistics Innovation Blueprint
Participation in North America's Largest Logistics Exhibition 'MODEX'
Autonomous AI Logistics Bot 'LG CLOi CarryBot' and More
"Actively Promoting Smart Factory Commercialization"
LG Electronics unveiled an extensive lineup of integrated logistics services covering the entire logistics process, including item pickup, inspection, and delivery, as well as AI industrial robots for smart factories.
LG Electronics announced on the 15th that it participated in MODEX 2024, North America's largest logistics exhibition, held from the 11th to the 14th (local time) in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. This was the first time LG Electronics set up a solo booth at a logistics exhibition.
At the exhibition, LG Electronics introduced ultra-high-speed communication technology-based ▲order picking robots linked with logistics systems ▲differentiated robot control systems ▲logistics automation solutions within smart factories.

They also showcased two types of autonomous driving-based AI logistics robots, the LG CLOi CarryBot. These robots specialize in transporting large volumes of goods to their destinations. They introduced a stacking type that sorts and loads items separately, and a roll-tainer type that carries a large volume of goods behind the main body.
The LG CLOi CarryBot transports goods at speeds of up to 1.2 meters per second. It applies proprietary driving technology called 'Fast-X,' optimized for logistics environments, including average driving and curve speeds and acceleration/deceleration control. LG Electronics possesses control technology capabilities such as AI-based autonomous driving, ultra-high-speed communication technology exceeding 5G, and big data processing. Even when dozens of robots move simultaneously in wide and complex logistics spaces, their work is not hindered.
Jo Joo-wan, CEO of LG Electronics, redefined AI as 'Affectionate Intelligence.' The AI robot Jeo's function was defined as 'Orchestrated Intelligence.' The LG CLOi CarryBot is a logistics robot developed based on this principle.

LG Electronics also introduced three types of industrial robots applied to smart factories. The company is actively promoting the commercialization of smart factory construction know-how through core technologies such as AI, big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT) that it has built up over time.
The 'Mobile Manipulator' is a vertically articulated robot that performs arm-like movements based on autonomous driving. It moves around the production line performing tasks such as parts transport, product assembly, and inspection for each process. They also introduced a low-profile Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) capable of carrying loads up to 500 kg and autonomously transporting them to destinations.
