Ulsan City Holds Technology Presentation for Urban Air Mobility Industry Development
Current Status of Korean UAM Promotion
Introduction to Component Certification System, etc.
Ulsan City will hold the ‘Ulsan Urban Air Mobility (UAM) Industry Development Technology Seminar’ at 2 p.m. on the 13th at Lotte City Hotel Ulsan. About 50 stakeholders from the automotive, aviation, and drone sectors will attend this event.
This event was organized to foster the Ulsan-type urban air mobility industry by sharing information on the government’s plan to promote the development of Korean-style urban air mobility (K-UAM) technology and the aviation parts certification system.
On the day, Kim Min-ki, senior researcher at the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement, will introduce the government and industry cooperation system for the success of the urban air mobility industry and the major challenges faced by the urban air mobility industry through a presentation titled ‘Korean-style Urban Air Mobility Technology Development and Demonstration Promotion Plan.’
Following this, Lim Jeon, head of the ANH Structure Center at ANH Structure Co., Ltd., will present on the current status of the safety and reliability certification system for urban air mobility parts based on international standards under the theme ‘Urban Aircraft and Parts Certification System.’
An official from Ulsan City said, “As a leading city in UAM, Ulsan is taking the lead in establishing demonstration support infrastructure,” adding, “Based on this, we will make every effort to foster the UAM industry so that our Ulsan can become a main pillar of South Korea’s future mobility industry.”

In June 2022, Ulsan City was selected as the integrated demonstration site for the ‘K-UAM Safe Operation System Core Technology Development’ project, and on January 11, it signed a business agreement with Hyundai Motor Company and Supernal to establish a UAM demonstration foundation.
