Jeonnam Province Implements 'Temporary Special Support for Youth Monthly Rent'
Jeonnam Province announced on the 8th that it will accept applications for one year until February 25, 2025, for the ‘Youth Monthly Rent Temporary Special Support’ project, which provides up to 200,000 KRW per month for 12 months to young people struggling with housing costs.
The support targets are young people without housing (aged 19-34) who live separately from their parents in housing with a deposit of 50 million KRW or less and monthly rent of 700,000 KRW or less.
The income and property criteria are 60% of the median income and property of 122 million KRW or less for independent youth households, and 100% of the median income and property of 470 million KRW or less for original households, with both conditions required. The original household refers to the household including the parents, even if the youth does not actually live with them.
However, for those aged 30 or younger, married (divorced), single parents, or unmarried youth households under 30 whose median income is 50% or more and who are financially independent, the income of the original household is not considered.
In addition, young people currently receiving youth monthly rent support from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport or local governments can reapply if they meet the age, income, and property requirements after the support ends.
Eligibility can be easily checked using the self-diagnosis service provided on the Bokjiro website (bokjiro.go.kr) and the My Home portal (myhome.go.kr).
The application period is one year until February 25, 2025. Applicants can apply in person at the local Eup, Myeon, or Dong Happiness Welfare Center with documents such as the application form, income and property report, and lease contract, or apply online through the Bokjiro website (bokjiro.go.kr).
