A rest area for platform workers such as designated drivers and delivery drivers will be established in Kimryangjang-dong, Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do. This will be the second rest area created in the Yongin region, following the first one set up last year in Jukjeon-dong, Suji-gu.
Yongin City announced on the 8th that it was recently selected for the Ministry of Employment and Labor's 'Platform Worker Workplace Improvement Support Project' and secured 55 million KRW in national funding.

This project is a government initiative to support rest spaces and safety measures so that designated drivers, delivery drivers, and others can be guaranteed minimum working conditions. The Ministry of Employment and Labor supports up to 50% of facility construction costs within a limit of 300 million KRW. The city plans to invest a total of 110 million KRW, including 55 million KRW of city funds, to establish the rest area.
With this selection, the city intends to create the rest area in the vacant space of the Labor Welfare Center in Kimryangjang-dong, Cheoin-gu. The rest area will be equipped with convenience facilities such as heating and cooling systems, computers, water purifiers, and massage chairs. It will also include a psychological counseling room providing mental health services for platform workers and emotional laborers, as well as a women's lounge. A city official explained, "Shower facilities and parking spaces at the Labor Welfare Center will also be available to rest area users."
