Police Conclude No Charges Against Nam Hyun-hee for Alleged Involvement in Jeoncheongjo Fraud Case
The police have concluded that Nam Hyun-hee (43), a former national fencing representative who had been under investigation for being an accomplice to Jeon Cheong-jo (28), who committed a multi-billion investment fraud, is not guilty of the charges.
On the 4th, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul announced that Nam, who was accused of fraud under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes, was dismissed without indictment. This means that Nam was judged not to have conspired with Jeon in the fraud.
Jeon impersonated a hidden successor of the Paradise Hotel from April 2022 to October 2023, swindling about 3 billion won from 27 people under the pretense of investment funds, and was sentenced to 12 years in prison in the first trial on the 14th of last month.

Nam was accused as an accomplice by the fraud victims but denied the allegations, claiming to be a victim herself. Through social networking services (SNS), Nam lamented, "I was deceived by Jeon Cheong-jo, who was false in everything except the name," and "Do I have to die for this case to end?"
