Hampyeong-gun Signs Agreement with Mokpo Mirae Hospital for 10% Discount on Knee Artificial Joint Surgery Fees
‘Receive 2.4 Million Won Support and 10% Medical Fee Discount’ Significant Benefits
On the 29th, Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it signed a business agreement with Mokpo Mirae Hospital to reduce the out-of-pocket expenses for knee artificial joint surgery for senior citizens by 10%.
This is the second agreement following the one signed with Gwangju Segyero Hospital in July last year.
The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Sang-ik, the mayor of Hampyeong-gun, Yang Kyung-ho, director of Mokpo Mirae Hospital, hospital officials, the director of Hampyeong-gun Public Health Center, and other related personnel.

View original imageThis agreement was made to reduce the medical expenses for knee artificial joint surgery for residents aged 60 and over in the area, and Mokpo Mirae Hospital will reduce 10% of the non-reimbursable medical fees.
The medical fee reduction at Mokpo Mirae Hospital is available to any resident of Hampyeong-gun aged 60 or older. However, documents proving residency such as a resident registration certificate must be submitted prior to surgery.
Since March last year, Hampyeong-gun has been implementing a support program for all residents aged 60 and over regardless of income, providing 1.2 million KRW for surgery on one knee and 2.4 million KRW for both knees. Within one year of implementation, it has supported about 150 people with a total of 235 million KRW, receiving great response from the residents.
