Gyeonggi-do Excels in Providing Public Data... Selected as 'Outstanding Institution' for 3 Consecutive Years
Gyeonggi Province has been selected as an excellent institution for three consecutive years in the '2023 Public Data Provision Operation Status Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Public Data Provision Operation Status Evaluation is conducted annually by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, targeting 696 organizations including central administrative agencies, local governments, and public institutions. It comprehensively evaluates five areas?data management system, openness, utilization, quality, and others (deductions)?across 16 indicators, classifying institutions into three grades: excellent, average, and insufficient.
Gyeonggi Province received a score of 93.14, about 20 points higher than the national average for metropolitan local governments (73.7 points), earning the highest grade of excellent institution (above 80 points) for three consecutive years.
In this evaluation, Gyeonggi Province scored highly in areas such as policy implementation based on the public data activation implementation plan, active establishment and execution of mid- to long-term public data openness, promotion of forums and policy meetings to enhance data utilization, efforts to support public data startup competitions and foster the data industry.

Kim Hyun-dae, Director of the Future Growth Industry Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We plan to actively discover and expand the openness of high-quality data that residents need," adding, "We will strive to develop the capability to solve issues based on data through the opening of private data closely related to daily life, such as telecommunications and card data, as well as public data."
