Pyeongtaek City Selected as Best Institution for 'Civil Complaints and Ombudsman'
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 28th that it was selected as the best institution in the 'Civil Complaints and Ombudsman' category at the National Rights Day ceremony hosted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission on the 27th, receiving a group commendation from the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.

The city explained that the Pyeongtaek City Citizen Grievance Committee members who received the commendation on that day were awarded in recognition of their faithful performance in protecting citizens' rights and their dedicated contribution to revitalizing the ombudsman (Citizen Grievance Committee) system.
Pyeongtaek City introduced the ombudsman system in November 2020 and has handled a total of 402 civil complaints so far. In addition, it operates a 'Visiting Grievance Counseling Day' to resolve difficulties faced by vulnerable groups in civil complaints.
Park Dae-geun, the chief member of the Pyeongtaek City Citizen Grievance Committee, said, "To respond to the diverse demands of citizens, starting this year, we are operating an advisory group of experts in law, civil engineering, environment, and other fields, and we will do our best to resolve citizens' difficulties."
