Commendation for Meritorious Service in Promoting the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Integrated Cultural Voucher Project
Presentation of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Commendation to Forty-Four Recipients
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Arts Council Korea held the 'Integrated Cultural Voucher Project Promotion Merit Award Ceremony' on the 27th at the Artist's House in Jongno-gu, Seoul, awarding the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Commendation to forty-four individuals. This ceremony encourages the efforts of local government officials and regional staff who worked last year to expand cultural enjoyment opportunities for vulnerable groups.
The awardees were selected based on recommendations from local governments, discovery of unserved beneficiaries, improvement of usage rates, and achievements in enhancing convenience for socially disadvantaged groups. For example, Sehee Moon, an administrative officer at Dongcheon-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Seo-gu, Gwangju, was recognized for proactively identifying 1,449 beneficiaries who had not enjoyed the benefits of the Munhwa Nuri Card due to lack of information. Hyejin Kim, an administrative officer at Nam-myeon Office in Yeosu City, was highly evaluated for implementing a Munhwa Nuri Card home issuance service considering the characteristics of island areas with many elderly and mobility-impaired individuals.

Byeonggeuk Jeon, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, attended the ceremony to congratulate and encourage the awardees. He said, "I express my gratitude to all those involved nationwide who strive to expand cultural enjoyment opportunities for vulnerable groups," and added, "I ask you to continue your efforts to ensure that socially disadvantaged people actively participate in cultural activities." He further stated, "We will expand support for the Munhwa Nuri Card to stabilize livelihoods and strengthen welfare for the disadvantaged in the cultural sector."
