Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) is recruiting Dong Community Social Security Councils to participate in the 'Gwanak-type Single-Person Household Support Project' contest until February 27.
The Dong Community Social Security Council is a network organization that utilizes various welfare resources within the community to identify welfare blind spots and establish and operate a community protection system. This allows for linkage with various community resources and quick identification of residents' needs.
The district is promoting a contest project targeting the Dong Community Social Security Councils for the first time this year to discover specialized projects tailored to the characteristics of each Dong.
The application period is until February 27, and Dong Community Social Security Councils wishing to apply should complete the application form and submit it in person to the Single-Person Household Support Team of the Welfare Policy Division at Gwanak-gu Office or via the responsible officer's email.
The project content is a specialized project by Dong to improve the quality of life for middle-aged single-person households, and 3 to 4 projects will be selected through the contest. Selected projects will be supported with a budget of 2.5 to 3 million KRW.

Submitted contest plans will be reviewed by the contest review committee and announced on the Gwanak-gu website and notified individually on March 29.

A district official said, “Since the local conditions and environments differ by Dong, support projects for single-person households tailored to local characteristics are necessary,” and added, “As this contest is newly implemented this year, we hope for active participation from the Dong Community Social Security Councils to create a resident-led welfare community.”
