Seoul Mobile Patrol Unit Arrests Suspect Who Fled After Robbing a Gold and Silver Shop

View original imageAccording to the police on the 23rd, Mr. A stole precious metals worth approximately 15 million won from a jewelry store in Gildong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, around 12:30 PM the previous day after requesting to see a pure gold men’s and women’s set. At the time, the Mobile Patrol Teams 1 and 3 of Unit 4, patrolling around Cheonho Station, received a radio dispatch, moved to the vicinity of the jewelry store, and conducted a search. Team 1 found the suspect on the street of Cheonjung-ro in Cheonho-dong, about 500 meters from the jewelry store. Team 3 discovered the clothes the suspect had changed into and cosmetics, and handed them over to the local police station.
On the 20th, the Police Agency officially launched the nationwide Mobile Patrol Units and Criminal Mobile Units directly under the city and provincial police agencies, specialized in preventing abnormal group crimes and violent crimes. The Mobile Patrol Unit focuses on patrolling crime-prone and densely populated areas and concentrates on crime prevention activities such as cracking down on disorderly conduct.
