A Man in His 50s Arrested for Weapon Rampage Over National Assembly Wall
No One Injured
The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 20th that they arrested a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, on the spot for causing a disturbance with a weapon after climbing over the wall of the National Assembly building while intoxicated.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of climbing over the wall of the National Assembly building in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, at around 2:20 a.m. that day, breaking the glass of parked vehicles with a weapon, and striking the window of a guard post (charges include special property damage and obstruction of official duties).
Mr. A also wielded the weapon against riot police officers who tried to stop him, but no injuries were reported. It was confirmed that Mr. A was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

The police plan to investigate the detailed circumstances of the crime with Mr. A and consider applying for an arrest warrant.
