EcoPro Collaborates with Hungarian Vocational Training Center to Secure Cathode Material Workforce
Mass Production of 100,000 Tons of Cathode Materials Annually in Hungary from 2025
"Early Stabilization of Hungarian Corporation... Skilled Workforce is Key"
EcoPro, a battery material company building a cathode material factory in Hungary, has begun securing local workforce.
EcoPro announced on the 19th that it recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Debrecen Vocational Training Center located in Debrecen city.
EcoPro is investing 382.7 billion KRW to build a cathode material factory in Debrecen, about 230 km east of Budapest, the capital of Hungary. EcoPro stated, "Securing high-quality workforce is crucial to stably produce a total of 100,000 tons of cathode materials in Hungary starting from 2025," and added, "Securing skilled personnel is key to the early stabilization of the Hungarian corporation."
The Debrecen Vocational Training Center educates graduates and job seekers in Hungary and connects them to companies. Approximately 12,000 people are currently receiving training at the center. Through this agreement, EcoPro expects to stably secure specialized personnel for the operation of the local corporation, including chemistry majors.
On the 1st (local time), at the conference room of Debrecen Vocational Training Center, Jang Seon-dong, head of Ecopro BM Hungary Corporation (from the right), Zsolt Tirpak, president of DSZC, Sandor Silaji, director of DSZC, and Laszlo Posan, member of the National Assembly, signed an industry-academia cooperation MOU and took a commemorative photo.

Earlier, in October last year, EcoPro selected 34 seed personnel for the Hungarian corporation and conducted training in Ochang and Pohang.
EcoPro has also consecutively signed MOUs with domestic and foreign universities. In February last year, EcoPro signed an MOU with the Hungarian Language Department of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies to discover and nurture global talents in the secondary battery industry. In October of the same year, EcoPro established industry-academia cooperation with E?tv?s Lor?nd University (ELTE), Hungary’s top university, to strengthen mutual cooperation in discovering local talents, employment, and career development in the secondary battery industry.
