Gwangju Nam-gu Strengthens Guidance and Inspections for Group Catering Facilities and Food Service Establishments
Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, maintains a year-round emergency duty system to prevent food poisoning and create a safe dining culture environment, while strengthening guidance and inspections of group catering facilities and food service establishments.
On the 16th, Nam-gu announced, "To prevent and contain food poisoning, we will actively implement a food poisoning prevention management plan until December, which includes organizing a task force and emergency duty, food poisoning prevention diagnostic consulting, and voluntary inspections of group catering facilities."
First, Nam-gu will maintain an emergency duty system for food poisoning prevention until December.
Four health center staff members will be organized into work shifts on weekdays and holidays to monitor situations through the food poisoning management system. In addition, a field investigation team and a cause investigation team responsible for sample collection and situation dissemination will be operated for rapid response in case of food poisoning occurrence.
Guidance and inspections will be continuously conducted for 4,448 hygiene establishments, including food service businesses and group catering facilities, as well as 198 focused management establishments such as schools, social welfare facilities, and hospitals.
As part of this effort, 86 group catering facilities, including 44 daycare centers and 42 medical institutions in the district, have been conducting voluntary inspections based on food poisoning checklists since the 14th, and these inspections will continue until the 29th.
Based on the results of their own inspections, Nam-gu plans to conduct on-site visits to group catering facilities in March and April.
In May, July, and October, food poisoning prevention diagnostic consulting will be promoted for food service establishments and social welfare facility personnel, and from April to October, when the risk of food poisoning is high, a food poisoning index text message notification service will be provided as a preventive measure.
