Ulleung-gun to Hold This Year’s ‘Youth Ski Camp’ at High1 Ski Resort
Resumption After 4-Year COVID-19 Hiatus
For 6th Grade Elementary and 1st Grade Middle School Students in Ulleungdo
Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is conducting a youth ski camp for 42 elementary and middle school students in the area at the High1 Ski Resort in Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon Province, in two sessions.
The first session will be held from February 13 to 16 for 20 first-year middle school students, and the second session will be from February 19 to 22 for 22 sixth-grade elementary students.
The ski camp, which started in 2016 and was held five times until 2020, was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic but has resumed this year. First-year middle school and sixth-grade elementary students, who missed out on the benefits during the suspension, have been selected as participants for this ski camp.
The ski camp program provides a valuable opportunity for Ulleung-gun youth, who face relatively poor educational conditions compared to the mainland, to experience diverse cultures and develop a broader perspective through communal living.
