‘Simindeokhui’ Goes to Italy
Invited to Competition Section at Udine Far East Film Festival
Executive Director: "A Story Easy to Relate to and Timely"
The film Citizen Deokhui will be showcased at the Udine Far East Film Festival. According to distributor Showbox on the 14th, it has been invited to the competition section to meet Italian audiences. Director Park Young-joo is also expected to attend the event.
Sabrina Baracetti, the festival's executive director, stated, "It is a brilliantly dramatized film based on a true story, delivering catharsis through excellent thrills, humor, and the joy of victory." She added, "I believe its relatable and timely story will resonate with audiences worldwide."
The Udine Far East Film Festival is the largest European festival showcasing a variety of Asian films. Previously invited Korean films include Night Owl, Mogadishu, Deliver Us from Evil, Secret Zoo, and Believer.

Following them, Citizen Deokhui is a thriller about an ordinary citizen who falls victim to voice phishing and the scammer who asks for help, leading to a chase. The cast includes Ra Mi-ran, Gong Myung, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Byung-eun, Jang Yoon-ju, Lee Moo-saeng, and Ahn Eun-jin. It was released on the 24th of last month and recorded a cumulative audience of 1,511,507 by the 13th.
