Hampyeong-gun Creates 'Parking Space' on Small Land Along Main Street in Eupnae
Establishment of a 29-unit complex near the traditional market... Resolving parking difficulties
Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-ik) has addressed parking difficulties on the main street of the town by creating parking lots using leftover land, alleviating inconvenience for residents.
According to the county on the 13th, last year, a parking lot was created on idle land near Hanaro Mart and Jagwang Daycare Center in Hampyeong-eup, securing an additional 220 parking spaces. This year, a new parking area with a capacity of 29 vehicles was established near the traditional market.

Since last year, related laws have been amended to prohibit parking on sidewalks even for one minute, leading to an increase in illegal parking and stopping reports.
Accordingly, the county has focused all efforts on fundamentally improving parking culture to prevent illegal parking vehicles from encroaching boundaries due to unclear boundaries between roads and sidewalks or excessively wide sidewalks.
