Ministry of Science and ICT Holds 'Open Forum' to Discuss the Future of Science in Korea
On the afternoon of the 5th, the Ministry of Science and ICT explained the government's leading research and development (R&D) policy and listened to the voices from the research field at the 'Open Forum' held at the National Science and Technology Advisory Council.
This open forum was promoted to form mutual consensus through communication with leading experts in the fields of 'basic research, talent cultivation, strategic technology, and science commercialization,' and to actively reflect their field experience and wisdom in science and technology R&D policies and projects.
During the free discussion, the Ministry of Science and ICT's bureau chiefs directly responded to opinions and questions from experts in each field, leading to in-depth discussions on the necessity of various institutional improvements and system innovations for transforming from follower-type R&D to leading-type R&D.
