CJ Logistics Forms TF Including Technical Staff
Joint Operation of New Ho Chi Minh Logistics Center
CJ Logistics is expanding its logistics business by partnering with a Vietnamese state-owned distribution company. The plan is to transfer advanced logistics technology and operational experience to establish itself as a key collaborative partner.
On the 31st, CJ Logistics announced that it had signed a "Strategic Partnership for Logistics Business Cooperation" with the Vietnamese state-owned distribution company 'Saigon Co.op.' Accordingly, the two companies will form a task force (TF) to jointly operate a new logistics center being built in the western area of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and explore various business opportunities together.
Established in 1989, Saigon Co.op is a major local distribution company with about 760 stores, including department stores, supermarkets, and convenience stores. Until now, its logistics subsidiary has been responsible for warehouse operations and transportation, but as it recently pursues expansion of offline stores and e-commerce business, it plans to apply CJ Logistics' TES-based advanced technology and superior operational experience to improve logistics efficiency. Accordingly, CJ Logistics plans to introduce automation equipment within the new Ho Chi Minh logistics center scheduled to operate this year through a TF that includes specialized personnel in advanced logistics technology research and development.
