Resumption of Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4 Construction... Uljin Pan-Citizen Countermeasure Committee Withdraws Constitutional Complaint Lawsuit
The Gyeongbuk Uljin Pan-Citizen Countermeasure Committee (Executive Chairman Kim Yoon-gi), along with Jang Yu-deok and 309 others, filed a constitutional complaint after the Board of Audit and Inspection dismissed their national audit request on May 28, 2021, regarding the illegality of halting construction of Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4.
With the abandonment of the nuclear phase-out policy and the resumption of construction of Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4 achieving the purpose of the constitutional complaint lawsuit, a withdrawal petition was submitted on November 7, 2023, and the withdrawal was approved on January 30, 2024.

The Uljin Pan-Citizen Countermeasure Committee decided to withdraw the constitutional complaint lawsuit following the resumption of construction of Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4. They stated they will continue to do their best for the greater development of Uljin County and the fruition of regional coexistence. Uljin County Council member Jang Yu-deok said, “I thank everyone who participated and supported us, and I will work even harder for the development of Uljin County.”
