Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Kwon Oh-seong) announced on the 30th that it has seized two Chinese fishing vessels on charges including obstruction of special official duties.

On the 29th at 9:39 PM, while conducting illegal fishing inspections on Chinese fishing vessels A (125 tons, pair trawl, registered in Dalian, 16 crew members, main vessel) and B (125 tons, 18 crew members, single vessel) operating about 94 km west of Hongdo, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, the vessels allegedly disobeyed the maritime police's order to stop and used weapons to obstruct the boarding of enforcement officers.
