Elders at senior centers in the Gyeongju area transformed into 'Donation Angels' by collectively donating over 93 million won as Hope Sharing contributions.
On the 30th, according to Gyeongju City, executives and staff of the Gyeongju branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association, along with elders from senior centers, visited Gyeongju City to donate 93,356,000 won as Hope Sharing contributions.

View original imageThis donation resulted from a fundraising campaign that spread to senior centers after a consensus was reached at the regular board meeting of the Gyeongju branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association held last month.
The Gyeongju branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association is known to have gathered with the purpose of "transforming from elders who only receive to elders who help neighbors in need" at the regular board meeting.
The fundraising enthusiasm was hotter than ever, with participation not only from elders at 634 senior centers in the Gyeongju area but also from Happiness Teachers, the Gyeongju branch reported.
In particular, among them, Kim Eun-sun, the general manager of the Seonggeon Bueong Village Senior Center in Gyeongju City, donated 1 million won, which she saved from the salary earned by participating in the senior job project. Kim Kyung-hwan, the head of the Yonggang-dong branch, donated 1 million won saved from his allowance, Park Seung-seok, vice president of the Gyeongju branch, generously donated 360 kg of rice harvested from his own farming, and elder Kim Ki-hwan from Maegol, Sannae, donated 510,000 won.
Gu Seung-hoe, president of the Gyeongju Senior Citizens Association, said, "I am grateful to all members who joined forces as well as everyone who encourages the Gyeongju Senior Citizens Association," adding, "The Korea Senior Citizens Association Gyeongju branch will always stand together in matters needed by Gyeongju citizens and participate in making a happy Gyeongju."
