Former Open Champion Rory: "Did You See the Albatross?"
Farmers Insurance Open 4R Hole 6 Record
First on Difficult Course in 8 Years Since 2016 Gore
PGA Tour 2 Wins, DP World Tour 6 Wins 'Skilled Player'
An albatross is scoring three strokes under par. It is even more difficult than a hole-in-one, which is sinking the tee shot in one stroke. The odds of a hole-in-one are 1 in 12,000, while an albatross is 1 in 2,000,000.

On the 27th (local time), at the 6th hole (par 5, 543 yards) of the Torrey Pines South Course (par 72, 7,765 yards) in San Diego, California, USA, during the 4th round of the PGA Tour Farmers Insurance Open (total prize money $9 million), he made an albatross.
It was the first time in eight years since Jason Gore (USA) recorded one at the 18th hole (par 5, 570 yards) of the Farmers Insurance Open 3rd round in 2016. Lowry sent his tee shot 303 yards on this hole, then holed out with his second fairway wood shot from 250 yards remaining. The ball landed in the rough near the green and was sucked into the hole.
