Imsil-gun Wins Grand Prize in Local Tax Collection Performance Evaluation Hosted by Jeonbuk Province
Imsil-gun announced on the 25th that it was selected as the grand prize winner in the 2023 second half local tax collection performance evaluation hosted by Jeonbuk Province, securing a prize of 17 million KRW.
This evaluation comprehensively assessed cities and counties that actively worked to expand local tax revenue, divided into three groups based on tax revenue scale from June to the end of November last year, considering factors such as local tax collection rate, collection growth rate, tax revenue growth rate, seizure of license plates of delinquent vehicles, and achievement of targets.
During the evaluation period, the county operated a comprehensive delinquent local tax cleanup period to secure financial resources and enhance fiscal soundness, realizing tax justice, and established independent collection plans for each eup and myeon to promote proactive administration.
As a result, the county strengthened delinquent tax disposition by seizing 350 properties of delinquent taxpayers, impounding 15 delinquent vehicles, and auctioning off delinquent taxpayer properties, collecting 80 million KRW in delinquent local taxes in the second half of the year.
For livelihood-type delinquent taxpayers, the county carried out taxpayer-centered collection activities such as promoting installment payments to support the recovery of tax payment ability.
County Governor Sim Min said, “Active collection of delinquent local taxes is essential to secure financial resources, enhance fiscal soundness, realize tax justice, and foster a sound taxpaying atmosphere,” adding, “We will continue to collaborate with eup and myeon to do our best to collect delinquent local taxes for stable financial resource 확보.”
