bhc Chicken CEO Song Hoseop's First New Year Move: 'Touring Nationwide Franchise Stores'
Meeting with Franchisee Councils from 7 Regions to Hear Voices
Strengthening Win-Win Management Including Launch of Voluntary Dispute Mediation Council
Song Hoseop, CEO of the chicken franchise bhc Chicken, launched his first activity since taking office by holding the ‘National Franchise Store Tour Meeting,’ embarking on a win-win management initiative for mutual growth.
bhc Chicken announced on the 24th that starting with a meeting with franchise stores in the Daejeon-Chungcheong region on the 15th, CEO Song will sequentially visit the metropolitan area, Busan-Gyeongnam, Daegu-Gyeongbuk, Gwangju-Honam, Gangwon, and Jeju regions, conducting the '2024 National Franchise Store Tour Meeting' until the 1st of next month.
This meeting was held just one month after the ‘2023 Second Half National Franchise Store Meeting’ held in Seoul last December. Its significance lies in bringing together the wisdom of both franchise stores and headquarters on various current issues. In particular, as the first official event personally hosted by newly appointed CEO Song, he will attend all meetings across the seven national regions to share voices and issues from the field.
At the metropolitan area franchise store council meeting, CEO Song said, "I sincerely thank the franchise business owners who showed passion and hard work despite the difficult business environment last year, including consumption slowdown due to high inflation." He emphasized, "Building on the valuable achievements so far, we will establish various policies for franchise stores and consumers to strengthen brand competitiveness and lay the foundation to grow beyond being Korea’s number one to becoming a global dining company."
As part of win-win management, bhc Chicken is preparing to launch the ‘Autonomous Dispute Mediation Council’ within the first half of this year to proactively and autonomously mediate conflicts or opposing interests that may arise between franchise stores and headquarters. The council will be composed of the franchisor, franchise store owners’ council, and external academic experts.
bhc Chicken is focusing its management goals this year on win-win management and is striving to prepare various institutional measures and devices for mutual growth with franchise stores.
Regarding e-coupons purchased by consumers before the price adjustment at the end of last year, the headquarters partially absorbed the increased supply cost, easing the burden on franchise stores through immediate and swift action. For frying oil supply, continuous monitoring of international market prices will be conducted, and any price reduction factors will be promptly reflected as was done last year.
A franchise business owner attending the meeting expressed, "I hope that the headquarters’ promises of win-win cooperation with franchise stores, such as partial reduction of some raw material supply prices and cost support, will continue to be fulfilled, and that various opinions from store sites to resolve the difficult realities of franchise stores will be actively reviewed."
