Gwangjin Jayang 4-dong Youth Reading Room Gains Popularity Among Students as a 'Study Cafe-Style Reading Room'
Operating Hours Extended from 9 AM to 11 PM Starting February... Two Public Libraries Open as Personal Study Spaces Even on Closed Days
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) announced that starting from February, the Jayang 4-dong Youth Reading Room, which was previously open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., will extend its operating hours from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
This is to revitalize the youth reading room by increasing the operating hours of the study space so that young people can study freely.
The Jayang 4-dong Youth Reading Room is located at 4 Ttukseom-ro 30ga-gil and is a study cafe-style reading room that opened two years ago. It can be used at an affordable price of 300 won per session, with separate reading rooms for males and females, each with 29 seats, totaling 58 seats. Last year, it was used by more than 8,800 students and residents, demonstrating its great popularity.
Public libraries also contribute to enhancing learning. Learning is possible at seven public libraries in the district, and even on days when they are closed, the Jayang 4-dong and Gunja-dong libraries, located on the first floor of the community center, are open as study spaces from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We have expanded the operation of the youth reading room and public libraries to create an atmosphere where all residents can study freely,” adding, “We will continue to discover and support various projects so that people can study in a convenient and comfortable environment.”
