HD Hyundai and Yuhan-Kimberly Collaborate on Hand Towel Recycling
Establishment of Resource Circulation System MOU
Separate Disposal of Used Hand Towels
"Annual Reduction of 18.6t Greenhouse Gas"
HD Hyundai is partnering with Yuhan-Kimberly to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the recycling of used hand towels.
HD Hyundai announced on the 19th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Yuhan-Kimberly to promote the recycling of used hand towels and establish a resource circulation system, and will conduct the ‘BI:CYCLE’ campaign throughout the Global R&D Center in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.
The BI:CYCLE campaign is Yuhan-Kimberly’s resource circulation project that recycles hand towels, which are used once and discarded, into resources. HD Hyundai launched this campaign to reduce unnecessary resource consumption and waste output, thereby contributing to environmental protection.
HD Hyundai stated, "Through the BI:CYCLE campaign, we recycled 21.8 tons of used hand towels annually," and added, "We expect to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 18.6 tons." They also noted, "This is equivalent to the effect of planting 2,041 30-year-old pine trees."

HD Hyundai has placed collection bins in all restrooms and washbasins within the Global R&D Center to facilitate the separate disposal of used hand towels.
The collected used hand towels are sorted and transported to Yuhan-Kimberly to be reused as raw materials for hand towels.
To achieve zero discarded used hand towels within the Global R&D Center, HD Hyundai plans to encourage employee participation by attaching stickers and posters near the collection bins to guide proper separation and disposal.
