Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation Launches 'Saeil Women Intern' Program with Up to 3.8 Million KRW Support
The Gyeonggi Northern Regional Saeil Center and Gyeonggi Northern Saeil Center, operated by the Gyeonggi Job Foundation, are recruiting companies and participants interested in joining the 'Saeil Women Intern Program.'
The Saeil Women Intern Program is supported by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. It connects participating companies with unemployed women (interns), providing a three-month internship period and supporting their transition to full-time employment.
The Gyeonggi Northern Regional Saeil Center and Gyeonggi Northern Saeil Center, which operate the Saeil Center projects, are recruiting companies and participants interested in the Saeil Women Intern Program until the budget for this year is exhausted.
Any unemployed woman registered as a job seeker at the Saeil Center can apply for the Saeil Women Intern Program.
Participants are offered a three-month work experience opportunity to help them adapt to the workplace and gain job experience. After completing the internship and converting to full-time employment with continuous service of six months or more, a retention incentive of 600,000 KRW is provided.
Companies eligible to apply for the program for full-time positions must meet the following criteria: ▲work at least 35 hours per week ▲have 5 to fewer than 1,000 regular employees ▲be registered for the four major social insurances (certain types of companies such as venture companies may have fewer than 5 regular employees). Additionally, there must have been no recommended resignations or forced layoffs within the past three months.
For part-time positions, the weekly working hours must be between 20 and less than 35 hours, and if wages are paid at 110% or more of the minimum wage and are equal to those of full-time employees, participation is possible.

Nam Unseon, Head of the Northern Business Headquarters at the Gyeonggi Job Foundation, stated, "According to the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, among women aged 25 to 54, 4 out of 10 (42.6%) have experienced career interruptions due to pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, with an average career break period of 8.9 years and the average age of occurrence being 29." She added, "Through the Saeil Centers operated by the foundation in the northern region, we will encourage the labor market re-entry of unemployed women with career interruptions in the northern Gyeonggi area and provide multifaceted support to help employed women maintain their careers."
