"2024 New Year Neighborhood (Dong) Business Report Meetings with 18 Neighborhood Residents over 6 Sessions from January 22 to February 2
Explanation of Key Policies and Listening to Opinions... Enhancing Resident Understanding and Interest, Actively Reflecting Feedback in District Administration
District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon: 'We Will Move Forward Like a Soaring Dragon for a New Economy, Premium City, and a Young Yeongdeungpo'"
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) is opening the door to communicative administration in the Year of Gapjin with the ‘2024 New Year Neighborhood (Dong) Business Report Meetings’ that reach out directly to residents.
The district announced that from January 22 to February 2, it will hold a total of six sessions of the ‘New Year Neighborhood (Dong) Business Report Meetings.’ These meetings provide an opportunity for Mayor Choi Ho-kwon to meet residents in person, share the district’s goals and major projects, and directly listen to residents’ opinions.
Through the ‘New Year Neighborhood (Dong) Business Report Meetings,’ the district plans to listen closely to residents’ voices and actively reflect their wishes in district administration, using this as a stepping stone to leap forward as a youthful Yeongdeungpo.
The major projects include ▲Establishing a comprehensive development master plan for the area around the Gyeongbu Line ▲Development plans for semi-industrial zones ▲Relocation of the Mullae-dong machinery and metal complex ▲Promotion of the construction of Seoul Sangsangnara ▲Promotion of the construction of Yeongdeungpo Mullae Arts Center ▲Creation of a yellow soil path along the Anyangcheon embankment ▲Launch of the Future Education Foundation ▲Practical support for senior centers operation ▲Redevelopment confirmation of the frequently flooded area in Daerim-dong ▲Withdrawal of rental housing on the Yeouido LH site ▲Promotion of Yeouido reconstruction, among others.
The first ‘New Year Neighborhood (Dong) Business Report Meeting’ will be held on January 22 at Yeongdeungpo Art Hall. About 200 residents from Yeongdeungpo-dong and Dangsan 1·2-dong will attend. Subsequently, the meetings will visit residents in each area in the following order: ▲Daerim 1·2·3-dong, Singil 5-dong (January 24) ▲Singil 1·4·6·7-dong (January 29) ▲Mullae-dong, Yangpyeong 1·2-dong (January 31) ▲Yeongdeungpo Bon-dong, Dorim-dong, Singil 3-dong (February 1) ▲Yeoui-dong (February 2).
This communicative approach is not the first of its kind. Last year, instead of holding New Year gatherings in each neighborhood, the district visited all 170 senior centers in the area to meet with elderly residents.
Additionally, the district held various meetings such as Hope and Happiness Resident Forums to listen to and engage with residents from all walks of life.
