Labor Angel Blooming at the Worksite... HJ Junggongup Selected as 'The Best Good Workplace'
30 Years of Employee Donations and Sharing
2 Billion KRW Donated to the ‘Gongdongmo Geumhoe’ Over 20 Years
Why was a company in the heavy industry sector, known as a ‘labor hardship zone’ due to its high work intensity and rough jobs, selected as the ‘Kindest Workplace’?
HJ Heavy Industries (Shipbuilding Division, CEO Sangcheol Yu) celebrated being chosen as the ‘The Best Kind Workplace’ by the Busan Community Chest of Korea. The plaque ceremony certifying this honorable workplace was held on the 18th.
The event took place at HJ Heavy Industries Yeongdo Shipyard, attended by CEO Sangcheol Yu of HJ Heavy Industries, Chairman Geumsik Choi of the Busan Community Chest of Korea, Secretary General Sunwook Park, and other related personnel.

The employees’ donation efforts, which have continued without interruption for 30 years, remained steadfast even during boom periods and times of business downturns when the company faced difficulties.
Since 2003, this company has generously donated a total of 2,054,222,000 KRW over more than 20 years to the Community Chest of Korea, the nation’s largest legal fundraising and distribution organization established in 1998, warming the blind spots of welfare areas.
The Community Chest of Korea’s ‘Kind Workplace’ program is a regular sharing participation method where employees of companies and public institutions donate pledged sponsorship funds monthly from their salaries. Any group of five or more, from workplace employees to clubs or small gatherings, can participate in donation activities.
‘The Best Kind Workplace’ is selected through screening among companies and organizations that have continued volunteering and sponsorship, where more than 50% of all employees (members) participate in sharing activities, have been members for over three years, and have donated more than 10 million KRW.
