Candidate Park Gyuntaek's Fourth Pledge: 'Rural Development'
Promotion of Policies to Improve Residential Welfare and Increase Rural Influx in Development Restriction Zones
Park Gyuntaek, a preliminary candidate of the Democratic Party for the Gwangsan-gu (Gap) electoral district in Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced his 4th pledge: "Policies to improve residential welfare and increase rural influx within the development restriction zone."
Candidate Park stated, "I will promote policies to improve residential welfare and increase the influx into rural natural villages that have been under development restrictions for over 50 years, preventing development activities and causing these villages to fall behind."
He continued, "I will amend related laws to allow adjustments to the development restriction zone within 3 to 5 times the existing residential area so that redevelopment projects in rural natural villages can be possible. First, I will urgently expand the water supply system to villages currently relying on groundwater for drinking water, and since residential wastewater is a major cause of odor and river pollution, I will install pipelines connecting to existing sewage treatment plants."

He added, "The reason these resident-requested projects have not been resolved is that although support is stipulated in existing laws, they have not been implemented due to financial conditions. I will actively seek financial support measures to stably promote resident-requested projects within the development restriction zone."
