This Year’s School Education Plan Establishment, Pursuit of Unique Education Features

Busan Northern Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Beom-gyu) will hold a workshop on the 19th at 10 a.m. in the Shilla Stay West Busan Ballroom Hall for about 150 vice principals, lead teachers, and curriculum heads of local elementary schools to establish this year’s ‘School Education Plan.’

This workshop is designed to enhance the understanding of the direction and key projects of Busan education and northern education promotion this year at the school level and to support the establishment of distinctive education plans for individual schools.

The day will be divided into three parts: an introduction to the main business plans of the Northern Office of Education, a special lecture on the 2022 revised curriculum and school autonomous time, and group discussions and debates.

Marking the first year of the phased application of the 2022 revised curriculum starting from grades 1 and 2, teacher Yoo Young-sik from Ansan Haesol Elementary School will give a lecture titled ‘Designing Teacher Curriculum and School Autonomous Time Based on the 2022 Revised Curriculum.’

Teacher Yoo, who is currently working as a researcher on the general and specific sections of the 2022 revised curriculum, will explain the overall revised curriculum and ways to efficiently utilize school autonomous time.

The Northern Office of Education plans to promote various policies this year to create a ‘Northern region leaping forward with premium education,’ including ▲Northern academic achievement enhancement project ▲Experience- and practice-centered Northern character education ▲Appropriate scaling of small schools.

Superintendent Kim Beom-gyu of the Northern Office of Education said, “I hope this workshop will serve as a foundation for establishing distinctive and creative school education plans that well reflect the major tasks of Busan education and Northern education.”
