Former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, Lee Nak-yeon, announced on the 12th that the tentative name of the new party is "Saeroun Mirae" (New Future). The official party name will be finalized through a public contest.
Lee's camp explained in a press release that the tentative name "Saeroun Mirae" was chosen to address national challenges in South Korea beyond extreme factional conflicts.
The official party name will be ultimately decided through a public contest and expert opinions. Starting today, the new party will accept online founding members through its website and will also conduct a public contest for the party name.
