Lee Nak-yeon's New Party Tentatively Named 'Saeroun Mirae'... Official Party Name to Be Publicly Solicited

Former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, Lee Nak-yeon, announced on the 12th that the tentative name of the new party is "Saeroun Mirae" (New Future). The official party name will be finalized through a public contest.

Lee's camp explained in a press release that the tentative name "Saeroun Mirae" was chosen to address national challenges in South Korea beyond extreme factional conflicts.

The official party name will be ultimately decided through a public contest and expert opinions. Starting today, the new party will accept online founding members through its website and will also conduct a public contest for the party name.

"Saeroun Mirae" plans to hold a founding members' meeting on the 16th at 2 p.m. in the International Conference Room of the Seoul Women’s Plaza. Following this, to meet the requirements for party establishment under the Political Parties Act, founding meetings will be held at each provincial party level, culminating in a central party founding convention.

The "Saeroun Mirae" camp stated, "We plan to present a future vision to the public through future talent recruitment and policy announcements."
