Last year, the sales volume of Sajo Tuna surpassed 73 million cans. If the sold 100g cans of Sajo solid tuna were stacked vertically, the height would be 250 times that of Mount Everest (8,848m).
Sajo Daerim announced on the 12th that the total sales volume of all Sajo Tuna products last year reached 73.77 million cans. With this, Sajo Tuna has solidified its position as a long-standing brand that has consistently received love since its first launch in 1989.
A representative from Sajo Daerim explained, "The reason Sajo Tuna has established itself as a steady seller is due to maintaining taste and quality for over 30 years since its launch, while continuously evolving to better satisfy consumers."
In March 2009, Sajo Daerim made a large-scale facility investment and established hygiene facilities, becoming the first in the tuna industry to receive HACCP certification for all tuna cans, setting a new standard for healthy tuna.
Then, in 2012, it was the first in the domestic industry to apply a ‘safe pull-tab’ on tuna can packaging, which received great consumer response. The safe pull-tab is a peel-off aluminum foil type lid that is safer and easier to open than the traditional steel lid. The Sajo Tuna cans with the safe pull-tab minimized the risk of safety accidents caused by sharp lids during opening or disposal, gaining strong consumer approval and quickly establishing itself in the market.
Along with this, Sajo Daerim steadily expanded its product lineup to meet diversified demands by launching ▲Sajo Premium Tuna ▲Sajo Fresh Tuna ▲Sajo Seasoned Tuna.
Sajo Premium Tuna and Sajo Fresh Tuna are premium-grade tuna cans made from carefully selected raw materials. They are characterized by a mild taste and a rich, chewy texture enjoyed simultaneously. Seasoned Tuna is a product that can be conveniently used in various dishes such as side dishes and stews. Representative products include ‘Spicy Tuna’, ‘Vegetable Tuna’, and ‘Stew-special Tuna’, which adds beef extract and various seasonings to make stew cooking easier. Additionally, ‘Barbecue-flavored Tuna’, perfect as a side dish for children, and ‘Extra Spicy Spicy Tuna’, which is 2.4 times spicier than the regular spicy tuna targeting spicy food lovers, have also received positive responses.
In June last year, four distinctive flavored Seasoned Tuna products that were not available in the market were newly introduced.
