Hong Kong Court Sentences Prison Term for Wearing Clothes with 'Hong Kong Liberation' Slogan
On the 10th, Hong Kong RTHK reported that a Hong Kong resident wearing clothing bearing the slogan "Liberate Hong Kong, Revolution of Our Times," a key slogan of the Hong Kong democracy movement, was sentenced to imprisonment.
According to the report, the Hong Kong court recognized the man's charge of incitement and sentenced him to three months in prison. The court stated in its ruling that the defendant was wearing clothing with the slogan, was roaming public places, and was aware of violating the law by purchasing related items from Taiwan.

The man, who stated he was unemployed, was charged last November with wearing and publicly displaying the clothing bearing the slogan to incite hatred or contempt against the central government or the Hong Kong government. On the same day, RTHK reported that he was found in possession of provocative publications such as shirts and flags at the Chek Lap Kok boarding gate in Hong Kong.
