Entrepreneurship-centered universities are a startup support project launched in 2022 through collaboration between universities with excellent technology startup infrastructure and collaboration networks and KISED. The project was initiated to intensively foster university startups and revitalize local startup ecosystems.
The seven startup companies supported by entrepreneurship-centered universities participating in the ‘K-STARTUP Integrated Pavilion’ at CES are NeuroYears from Kangwon National University, Mimetics and Entertake from Sungkyunkwan University, ActiveBooky from Jeonbuk National University, and NextPayments, AIMD, and ZCrypto from Hanyang University.
KISED explained, “These companies have advanced their business models (BM) using university-owned infrastructure, developed sales channels, and attracted investments through customized startup support programs tailored to each growth stage, making their entry into the global market a significant success story for regional startups.”
In particular, ZCrypto, co-founded by Professor Oh Hyun-ok of Hanyang University, received the highest innovation award again this year in the ‘Cybersecurity & Privacy’ category for its voting system ‘zKvoting’ that utilizes blockchain and cryptographic technology.
