Gyeonggi-do Semiconductor Talent Development Expert Course Kicks Off This Year
Gyeonggi Province is launching and operating the ‘2024 Winter Semiconductor Material Analysis Expert Course’ to cultivate semiconductor specialists.
This expert course is jointly conducted by the Next-Generation Convergence Technology Institute, Kyonggi University, and semiconductor specialized equipment companies.
The training targets six students from the Department of Electronic Engineering at Kyonggi University, the lead university of the Gyeonggi Semiconductor Shared University. The course runs for a total of eight weeks until the 23rd of next month.
This winter training expands on the eight-week pilot summer course on semiconductor material analysis experts that was conducted since July last year.
The training focuses on theoretical and practical education about expensive deposition processes and analysis equipment that are difficult for students to access through regular school classes.
In addition to the practical training on X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) conducted in the summer course, theoretical and practical courses on thin film manufacturing equipment and device analysis equipment have been added. The number of participating companies has also increased from two to five.
Six students who completed the beginner-level education on semiconductor device thin film deposition and analysis equipment at Kyonggi University were selected for the expert course.
The main training includes theoretical and practical education on ▲thin film manufacturing equipment ▲semiconductor thin film analysis equipment ▲semiconductor device analysis equipment.
Students who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate jointly issued by the Convergence Technology Institute, Kyonggi University, and the participating companies based on their participation and practical evaluation.
