Joo Myung-geon, Honorary Chairman of Sejong University, Proposes Revision Plan for Gadukdo New Airport Project
Sejong University announced on the 4th that Honorary Chairman Ju Myung-geon published a paper titled "Gadeokdo New Airport Project" in the December issue of Uninomic Review.
The paper suggests that with minor modifications and improvements to Gadeokdo Airport, Busan can leap forward as a global mega city, and proposes the Gadeokdo New Airport Project to the government.
In particular, the government plans to spend approximately 13.49 trillion won to build a 3.5 km runway, aiming to open the airport in December 2029. However, since the government debt stands at 1,035 trillion won, rather than spending 14 trillion won to construct Gadeokdo Airport, reclaiming land south of Gangseo-gu by utilizing a seawall could actually generate a profit of 203 trillion won.
