Samsung Life Insurance Conducts Customer Guidance Using 'Low-Carbon Paper'
Samsung Life Insurance announced on the 4th that starting this year, the notices provided to customers will be produced using 'low-carbon paper.' By applying Environment Ministry-certified 'low-carbon paper' to insurance contract management notices, the company is participating in environmental protection through carbon emission reduction.
Since September 2019, Samsung Life Insurance has introduced the 'Smart Notice Service,' which allows customers to receive postal notices on their mobile phones, continuously striving to reduce paper usage. As a result, approximately 170 million sheets of paper have been saved cumulatively until last year. This is equivalent to protecting about 17,000 trees aged 30 years. Although some notices had to be issued on paper due to legal restrictions or customer requests, the company plans to achieve additional carbon reduction through this switch to low-carbon paper.
A Samsung Life Insurance official stated, "We continue efforts to reduce paper usage by introducing mobile subscription and smart notice services," adding, "We are the first in the industry to provide customer notices using low-carbon paper, fulfilling our corporate social responsibility for environmental protection."
