The Korea Council for University Education (KCUE) announced that 193 general universities nationwide will accept regular admission applications for at least three days between the 3rd and 6th. Examinees can select one university from each of the three groups (Ga, Na, Da) and submit a total of three application forms. The regular admission period for junior colleges runs from the 3rd to the 15th.
To submit a common application, applicants must register as integrated members on one of the application agency websites (either Uway Apply or Jinhak Apply). If they have member information and a common application form from the early admission period, they can reuse them.
Four-year universities will announce competition rates at least once a day from the start of application submission until the last day. Examinees can refer to these to determine whether the competition rates for their desired universities have changed compared to the previous year.
Lim Seong-ho, CEO of Jongro Academy, said, "This year's CSAT has increased discriminative power, so top-tier students are likely to apply ambitiously to higher-ranking universities," adding, "The acceptance cutoff for mid-tier students is unlikely to drop compared to last year." He continued, "Almost half of the applications tend to be submitted on the last day of the regular admission period," advising, "Applicants should carefully check whether the number of regular admission slots in their desired departments has changed and monitor competition rates before applying."

In the third year of the integrated CSAT for both liberal arts and science tracks, the 2024 college admissions are expected to continue seeing science students applying across tracks to liberal arts departments. MegaStudy Education analyzed users of its acceptance prediction service and forecasted an increase in science students applying to liberal arts departments at Korea University during the regular admission period.
At Korea University, the proportion of science students applying to liberal arts departments among MegaStudy service users rose to 44.1%, up 7.3 percentage points from 36.8% the previous year. Korea University uses its own converted standard scores based on percentiles, where students who took the science inquiry exam tend to receive higher scores than those who took the social inquiry exam. The advantage of inquiry subjects varies by university in their own converted standard scores, and universities like Korea University that favor science inquiry subjects may see increased cross-track applications. This means science students with high scores based on their science inquiry exams apply to top universities or popular humanities and social science departments.
Nam Yoon-gon, head of the Admissions Strategy Research Institute at MegaStudy Education, said, "At top universities, admission results often fluctuate due to factors like social science inquiry converted standard scores and the number of carryover slots in regular admissions," advising, "Applicants should thoroughly review the recently announced regular admission guidelines for each university to ensure a well-prepared application."
It is also important to check the number of carryover slots from early admissions. According to data released by Jongro Academy on the 2nd, the number of students who were not admitted during early admissions at Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Korea University and were carried over to regular admissions totaled 337, accounting for 4.9% of the total selection quota.
In particular, Yonsei University's Humanities and Social Sciences Convergence Department (HASS) and Convergence Science and Engineering Department (ISE), which select students only through the comprehensive student record (international type) track, had 82 students (59.9%) and 28 students (39.4%) respectively unfilled during early admissions.

Examinees should also be aware that application deadlines and cutoff times vary by university. Seoul National University, Yonsei University, Korea University, and Kyung Hee University close applications on the 5th, but the cutoff times differ: Seoul National University and Kyung Hee University at 6 PM, Korea University and Yonsei University at 5 PM. Most other universities, including Sogang University, Sungkyunkwan University, Ewha Womans University, Sookmyung Women's University, and Dongguk University, close applications on the 6th.
